In order to provide more interactive content of the database „Lituanistika“, higher content dissemination, links with modernized Virtual Electronic Heritage Information System (VEPIS) of Lithuanian National Martynas Mažvydas Library (LNMMB) are being planned. Project partner is Lithuanian Research Council.

We invite scientists to publish the full-texts of their publications in Open Access of the Database “Lituanistika“. Usage of database (over one million downloaded full-texts in 2017) and surveys show that users appreciate the possibility of full-text reading.

One of the most important tasks of the database is the international dissemination of Lithuanian studies, the greater visibility and awareness of Lithuanian scientists. Applying international bibliographic information transfer protocols, standards and formats, the Database "Lituanistika" is already available not only in the Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library (eLABa), but also in the OpenAIRE Search Portal (https://explore.openaire.eu/search/dataprovider?datasourceId=opendoar____::bbeb0c1b1fd44e392c7ce2fdbd137e87).

The list of non-experted journals is updated

The list (https://www.minfolit.lt/files/Pranesimai/Neekspertuojamu_zurnalu_sarasas_(67).20180320.pdf) of non-experted journals is updated. Under the decision of the Expert Board the list of non-experted journals with an impact factor of ≥ 0.9 (i.e. 90 or more from 100 evaluated journal publications corresponded to the quality of Lithuanian studies) was supplemented.

The database "Lituanistika" was presented in the international event dedicated to the open science

On 25–27th October the database "Lituanistika" as the open science infrastructure was presented in the event of Istanbul Aydin University (Turkey). The event was dedicated to debates about the global situation of open science, sharing experience, discussing the concept of the open science and the challenges of its implementation. The specialists of the project PhD Laima Bucevičiūtė and PhD Giedrė Sabaitytė have given the presentation "Open science implementation in Lithuania: the case of the database "Lituanistika" to the international community”.

Even 60 percent (28,5 thous.) of Lituanistika database (LDB) articles and books are open access

35 Lithuanian publishers licensed the output of fulltext publications on Lithuanian studies for Lithuanian Research Council. Scientific works from 195 journals and 42 books are published. LDB contains 27 thous. open access articles and books.1500 more publications of Lithuanian and foreign authors can be found and read in foreign open access repositories links to which are indicated: British education index, CEJSH, Czasopisma humanistyczne, De Gruyter Open, ISS PAS, RCIN, institutional repositories of Bialystok, Lodz, Warsaw, Jegiellonian (Poland), Riga universities, portals Scientific Journals Online, Wiley Online Library, etc. At present even 60 percent of records in LDB are published with texts.
